Alandi is a town located in the Khed taluka of Pune district in Maharashtra, India. It's situated on the banks of the Indrayani River and is primarily known as a significant pilgrimage site. It holds immense religious importance as the resting place (Samadhi) of the revered Marathi saint, Sant Dnyaneshwar (also spelled Jnaneshwar or Gyaneshwar). While often referred to as Alandi, it's more accurately described as "Alandi Rural" because it's considered a rural area compared to the urban sprawl of Pune city.
