A record high has been measured for the foreign direct investment from institutional investors in Indian real estate. The figure invested in realty is close to $5.5 bn which is a steep rise within the constant growth since 2014. The current establishment is well-known for its progressive rejuvenation of real estate industry by the implementation of legislation like RERA amongst many other bills to safeguard investors' rights. The quest for revamping India's derelict unorganised nature is set to take a rather curvy upturn in coming years.
Though the intensive focus has been put on commercial spaces, foreign firms are eyeing to tap the emerging luxury market. The country despite gaining dollars misses out on achieving its goals of 'housing for all', as the majority of liveable inventory lie vacant because of unaffordability. The realty industry is also poised to look further from top metros to smaller markets in 2019 and in the coming years.
