A whopping 12% GST on under-construction homes have made the homebuyers find a new way to save their pennies. Some developers club with witty homebuyers to show the booking amount as 'loan', which is returned back to them upon construction. They, then, re-enter the contract for the actual transfer of property ownership. It is because. the under-construction properties are levied upon a 12% GST and the completed ones, along with the OC are not.

Many reputed builders and developers have stayed away from this crookery, as they acclaimed, they would rather not risk their goodwill and legal status.
