Shantilal Kataria, entrepreneur and current president of CREDAI Maharashtra, had a very humble beginning in the small Maharashtrian town of Barshi, where he was born in 1957. Most of what Kataria learned about values, business ethics and practical approaches to life was through the teachings of his father and elder brothers.
His own experience of the real world began when he shifted to Pune to pursue his graduation in Law from Fergusson College. In fact, it was during his graduation that he, along with his brothers, started Aditya Builders. The company has now become a trusted name in Maharashtra's real estate market.
Kataria, however, did not want to be limited to his office space. He had aspirations of becoming an active member not just of his own company, but also of the closely-knit real estate industry. This led to his involvement as an active member in the Promoters and Builders Association of Pune (PBAP), now known as CREDAI Pune Metro. Kataria has been involved with the association since its inception in 1993 and has served tenures as Treasurer, Vice President, and President.
Despite having been a part of the industry for over 35 years, Kataria still thinks it is important to continue learning about Indian real estate sector's problems and patterns. He likes traveling across continents because that gives him a chance to explore the various aspects of development in different countries, from which Indian developers could learn greatly.
Kataria and his brothers started Aditya Builders in 1979. They believe in an intelligent approach to development- one that focuses on customers' needs, concerns and dreams. The motto of Aditya Builders is not to live up to the expectations of their customers, but to exceed these expectations. The company has earned a reputable name in India's real estate industry through its unique approach to treating every venture with complete attention as if it were its sole venture. Economic viability, pleasing aesthetics, and environment sustainability greatly influence their planning and design.
Recently, Aditya Builders has expanded its potential and scope by also venturing into chemical manufacturing, property leasing, warehousing, trading and retail, and distribution.
