The inception of the Real Estate Appellate Tribunal, also known as the Real Estate Appellate Authority, came into existence as a major part of the Real Estate Regulation and Development Act of 2016. The setting up of this tribunal has emerged as a much-needed regulatory body which has been designed to tackle the deep-seated challenges that have long plagued the real estate industry and have helped protect the homebuying dreams of many buyers.

The primary goal of the Karnataka Real Estate Appellate Tribunal is to restore the faith of homebuyers who once navigated a treacherous terrain of project delays, bad construction quality, misleading representation, unfair contractual clauses and unscrupulous developers.

In essence, the tribunal embodies a commitment to the principles of justice, fairness, and accountability in the realm of real estate.
