The Supreme Court had given its verdict to dissolve off the Aamby Valley land in August 2017 with the official liquidator. The SC refused to consider the beleaguered plea of Sahara Group to delay the auction of the lush property on the ghats.
The auction process began after three days and the liquidator was inviting bids at a reserve price of ₹ 37,392 crores. Seven months after the decree, the liquidator finds it difficult to dispose off the 7000-acre land sprawled across the western ghats near Pune. The PMRDA (Pune Municipal Authority) has assured to partake in the easy liquidation of the land in various pockets.
PMRDA commissioner Kiran Gitte spoke on the issue and how he would assist the liquidator in the auction procedure. " PMRDA will support the auction process as the hill station should develop further," he said. Aamby Valley happens to be Sahara Group's most acclaimed project which features the serene setup of man-made lakes, high-end properties, public amenities, airport etc. located in Pune district and connectivity to Mumbai and Pune city centre.
