Advantages of buying a house on the main road


Easy access

A house on the main road is easily reachable. Residents enjoy the advantage of proximity to civic and social infrastructure like schools, hospitals, shopping complexes, hospitals etc.


Availability of public transport

The main-road house also means that one can easily find public transport since most facilities like bus stands, rickshaw stands, taxis etc. are on the main road.


Security

Contrary to what most people think, houses on the main road enjoy enhanced security. These roads are generally always well-lit as compared to by-lanes which may or may not be regularly maintained. Without a stilt parking or any other parking facility, residents could face serious parking issues. There would always be a risk of blocking the road through haphazard parking. Some residents also feel hesitant about parking their car unguarded on the main road.


Pollution

Living by the main road means being a victim of the constant beeping of horns, and the dust caused by vehicles racing by.


Lesser Resale Value

If it is true that main-road houses are available for sale at discounted rates, then it would also mean that these houses have a lesser resale value as compared to houses within colonies or in by-lanes.
