The world is certainly an unusual place. Contributing to the unusualness are The Netherlands' Cube Houses built in Rotterdam and Helmond in 1977.
The architect of these houses, Piet Blom, meant to represent a 'village within a city' through this design. Each house represents a 'tree' and all the houses together represent a 'forest'.
The houses are made of cubes, each of which is tilted at a 45-degree angle. The hexagon-shaped structures make for the base of these houses, or effectively, the trunk of these trees.
Though shaped unusually, these houses contain sufficient space to make for comfortable living.
It is an architectural marvel, isn't it?
