Neeraj Chopra, now also honoured with the rank of Lieutenant Colonel in the Territorial Army, is India's favourite javelin thrower. Neeraj has managed to steal everyone's hearts by becoming the first Indian track-and-field athlete to win Olympic Gold in the men's javelin throw event during the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games which was held in 2021 due to the Covid-19 pandemic, followed by a silver medal in Paris Olympics in 2024.
Despite his victory with a throw of 88.16m in the Paris Diamond League, Neeraj strives to be better and more focused on meeting the 90m mark, making him the legend that we all look up to and are proud of.

Neeraj Chopra lives in an opulent three-storey bungalow in Khandra, Haryana, which is valued at approximately ₹30 crore. The exterior of this exquisite house is a beautiful blend of white and brown, giving it the minimalist yet sophisticated look. There's a greeting with 'Chopra's' engraved at the entrance along with the plaque that reads "Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam" in Sanskrit, meaning 'the world is one family' as the name of the house. The front of the house is graced not just with his collection of cars but also with the potted plants, making it more pleasing to the eyes.
The beautiful bungalow has a well maintained garden and a backyard with a seating arrangement and a pool table to chill and have a family time with. With the love for his country, there's an Indian flag hoisted on the terrace of his house. There is one room in his bungalow assigned for all his awards, medals and trophies.

Neeraj Chopra was born on 24th December, 1997 in the Khandra village of Haryana. His parents are Satish Kumar, a farmer and Saroj Devi, a homemaker. His interest for javelin throw came through when his parents enrolled him in a gymnasium to reduce weight as a teenager. Once his training would get over, Neeraj would go to the nearby Shivaji Stadium and become familiar with the sport that made him the legend today.
Now known as one of the best javelin throwers, he won his first gold medal in 2012 at the National Junior Athletics Championships (U16). Later in 2016, he won the gold medal at the IAAF World U20 Championships in Bydgoszcz, Poland with a throw of 86.48m, making his career take a leap forward. It was however his gold medal win in the Tokyo Olympics held in 2021 that made the whole nation go in awe and pride for his achievement. In the Paris Olympics in 2024, Neeraj won a silver medal.

Neeraj Chopra goes through intense training and exercises to improve his strength and flexibility and some of his routine is specifically designed for javelin throwing to improve precision, power and flexibility. His training session also involves Tabata workout, a high-intensity interval training. Apart from these intense workout sessions, he also does squats, snatches, time circuits, dumbbell front, side raises, oblique crunches, weighted lunges and Swiss ball crunches. To relax the muscle soreness, he completes his session with ice baths and deep tissue massages. Furthermore, he makes sure to get at least 8 to 10 hours of sleep after such intensive training.
