Godrej Properties, a Mumbai-based listed real estate developer, announced on March 18 that it has purchased a land parcel of 20 acres in Bengaluru. With a Gross Development Value (GDV) of approximately ₹1,350 crore, the company aims to build a housing project that offers a comfortable lifestyle to the residents according to their modern demands.
Located in Bengaluru, near the Whitefield area, the plot is strategically positioned along the NH-648 stretch in East Bengaluru. This corridor has emerged as a residential zone because of its close vicinity to the significant IT parks and businesses.
According to the company, the land parcel is well-connected to the Whitefield-ITPL region, and is accessible to major routes linking East and South Bengaluru. To further ease the connectivity, the project will conveniently provide easy access to Kadugodi and Hope Farm metro stations on the Purple Line of Namma Metro, in the eastern IT corridor of the city.
This micro market has become a residential hub because of the area's robust social infrastructure in the past decade. Steady interest from actual homebuyers in both the mid-range and luxury sectors has kept the demand for housing consistent, as stated by the company. The firm's objective is to build a project that combines quality design and functionality with lifestyle amenities to provide a high standard of living to its customers.
1. The company had announced on March 13 that it had acquired a land parcel of 44 acres for the development of a premium plotted housing project in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu. With a development potential of 1.1 million sq ft, the project's Gross Development Value (GDV) is approximately ₹450 crore.
2. On March 5, the firm secured two major sites with a combined revenue potential of ₹6,150 crore. It is a prime 5-acre plot off Kolkata's EM Bypass won via a WBHIDCO e-auction, and an 11.36-acre tract in Gurugram purchased outright for housing.
Godrej Properties' strategic land acquisition near Whitefield strengthens its presence in Bengaluru's high-growth residential corridors by leveraging proximity to the Namma Metro Purple Line and major infrastructure. This acquisition, part of an aggressive expansion strategy targeting high-potential urban micro-markets, positions the developer to meet the sustained demand for premium housing in the area.
